I have several books that I've acquired to help me in my quest to gain some working proficiency in the Chinese Mandarin language. However, a piece of software that I picked-up some years ago (then marketed by by Transparent Language as 101 Languages of the World) has long been a favorite - in particular, for the very helpful voice analysis capability:
