2016-04-30 Saturday - Author Joe Henderson, on running

Will start reading this book next week:

"Run Right Now, What A Half-Century On The Run Has Taught",
by Joe Henderson - former Editor, Runner's World.

Other interesting titles by Joe Henderson:

"Learning to Walk: How walking added miles to my runs and years to my running"
http://www.amazon.com/Learning-Walk.../dp/B009STQG7U/

"Long Slow Distance: The humane way to train"
http://www.amazon.com/Long-Slow-Distance.../dp/B003ZK5QB0/

I close out the month of April having logged 84.50 miles - and a total of 127.75 miles since beginning my training program in March.

My goal for May is 180 miles. Ambitious, yes. But, I am on a mission to ignite the fire within. Based on my progress thus far, and my expected continued rate of progress - I should easily be able to complete 1,000 miles by the end of the year.

...and by then, there should be a very different fellow looking back at me in the mirror.

2016-04-23 Learning From The Game of Poker

As a speculator and an investor, I value the lessons that can be learned from the game of Poker.

I recently came across the blog of Haseeb Qureshi, and noted that he has a series of articles that are particular interest (and quite well written):

I may also pick-up a copy of his book, How to Be a Poker Player: The Philosophy of Poker

The interesting value in all of this - is how some of this thinking can be applied to making oneself a better investor, speculator, trader in the markets...
