A Favorite Author: Hugh Prather

For the last week...there has been a memory that I have struggled to recall...the author of a few books published in the 1970s...that I could vaguely remember - but that left a lasting impression on me.

I could not remember the author's name...although I had a strong impression his last name started with a "P".

His writing wasn't so much as "New Age", but more metaphysical in a Zen kind of way...

His books were always slim volumes...with few words on the page...but thoughts that struck like a bolt of lightning.

I recall how much I enjoyed reading his words...

I've tried doing Google searches several times over the last week...all to no avail...

And then, just now...Serendipity.

Somehow, I read a news item...and the last name of someone mentioned in the article resonated..."Prather".

A quick Google search brought me to his Wikipedia page:

This was the first book of his, that I read - so many decades ago (and still have, in a box, stored away in my library collection)...."Notes To Myself"

(a very interesting story of how this book got published...)

There are even free recordings of his weekly talks, given at some church in the 1980s...
