For Thy Name is Dog

For, Behold!

Thy name is "Dog"!

Thou shalt be long-suffering...

And loyal to thine owner.

 

A sure friend - like unto no other...

And thou shalt be fêted with treats, until the end of of your days...

 

And I shall place within you a light that shall shine...

Even until the sun shines no more.

 

Thy name shall be a blessing...

And a succor in times of joy...

Or, in times of woe.

 

Of a steadfast heart will I mold thee...

 

Thou shalt walk at times in the shadows...

And at times in the noonday sun.

 

Thou shalt lead when they are weary...

And follow...to keep watch from behind.

 

No evil shall approach...lest it feel the wrath of your rage...

For I shall bless thee with speed, strength, and cunning.

 

The smallest and the weakest will rest under your watchful eye...

At all times...thou shalt be a comfort to those you ward.

 

Thine eyes shall be blessed to speak what is in thy heart...

And those who are true - will read your words...in your eyes.

 

And thy voice will be a warning...and a cause for joy...

 

For while god may not walk upon the earth...

He has sent you in his stead...until the fullness of time is filled.
