These are dark times we are going through.
Fear of losing what you have can paralyze you. The natural tendency is for each to focus on their own needs. But, there are many who are in far greater need than we can probably imagine.
Against this tide of fear - it is in the acts of kindness of each person - that the foundations of our collective humanity are tested - and reaffirmed. The positive actions of a single person ripple out in threads that reach far beyond a single act of kindness. Those threads combine - in ways that we cannot see - and give rise to something that many are greatly in need of: Hope.
Wouldn't the world be a much better place, if we each paused for 5 minutes every day - and looked for some way we might offer to help someone in our respective networks? Unasked. Unsought.
"Oft the unbidden guest proves the best company."
"Hope oft deceives. ... Yet twice blessed is help unlooked for."
~ LOTR, J.R.R. Tolkien
